A good resume or resume(s) are necessary to help you get a job. Most recruiters place resumes into 3 piles: Those that receive a not interested letter or email often referred to as a “Dear John or Dear Jane”. Those that will be further studied if a good candidate can not be found in pile one. And pile one where the candidates meet most or all of the criteria in the position description. On average, hiring managers scan individual resumes for fewer than 20 seconds before deciding the pile in which to place them
Obviously it is important to get your resume into pile one and we can help.
In some cases it is preferable to have several resumes. This is particularly true if you have skills and experience that are applicable for different kinds of jobs. One general resume is usually not the best way to present yourself. Each resume should expand upon the experience and skills you possess that closely as possible match the position you are interested in.
Your resume is your primary marketing tool, your foot in the door and the lead element in any job campaign. If your resume does not command attention while highlighting your most sellable attributes immediately, your paperwork gets shuffled to the wrong pile.
Later this month we will be able to provide you with professional resume writing assistance. Please check back if this service will be of value to you.
